Cure Migraine Headache

Migraine is a specific type of headaches. It is most commonly described as a strong pain on one side of the head with sensitivity to light and sounds and may cause nausea. Today’s medicine does not have a final and specific answer to what causes migraine and how to cure it. A doctor will usually list a half of things you do as a cause and prescribe a medicine that will knock you of your feet but will not affect your migraine.

The most common causes of migraine that everybody will agree on are hormonal imbalance, food and stress. Considering that hormonal imbalance is most of the time caused by food, it is safe to assume that migraines are caused by foods we eat and thought we think. If this assumption is correct, curing a migraine headache as a simple but difficult task.

If you are a person that worries a lot and if stress affects you, your migraine may be caused by your thought. To cure it you will need to work hard and long on self-improvement and discipline. These are only some things that may help:

Determine what is important to you and what is marginal. Make sure the important things are taken care of; the marginal things can wait.

Nobody is perfect, so stop trying.

You can't change other people, so accept them or avoid them.

Wherever you go, leave 10 minutes early.

Accept death as a normal part of life. We will all die one day, so we should enjoy the time we have

There is no one single food that causes everybody’s migraine. We are all different and the things affect us differently. It is very important to pay attention to the food we eat and to all the ways it affect us. Some foods will cause your migraine every time you eat it. Some foods will affect you only after you eat a certain quantity or in a certain frequency.

To avoid the headache caused by food pay attention to what you eat. Write down everything you eat and the time you ate it at. On the same list write down all dates and times you have a migraine and how long it lasted. In time your list will show a pattern that will uncover the cause of your headache. If the cause is not obvious, try adding up: it would be something like this “I had a small piece of chocolate this week and did not have a headache. I had 4 pieces of chocolate last week and I had a headache. This means that I should not eat chocolate in large quantities.

It may be helpful for a migraine sufferer to go through a period of detoxification by fasting or eating a raw food diet. This process can reduce or even prevent migraine in some people.

Whatever the reason, migraine is bothersome and you just want it gone.

For quick fix help try these remedies:

Hold an ice bag on your neck and head.

Lay down in a dark room without a pillow and with your knees lifted. Close your eyes and cover them with a cold wet cloth.

Eat Bananas, eggs, tomato juice

There is another cause that is not widely recognized but very often causes headache of any kind. It is dehydration. Before you pop up another pill and before you let your headache develop into a full-blown migraine, try drinking something. Although, water is the best drink and irreplaceable in your diet, in this case you may want to try tea. Not because any specific type of tea magically cures migraine, but because your body can absorb warm liquid much better than cold. So, unless you are a fan of warm water, tea would be your best bet to replenish liquid in your body.
